Blurb:
Never fall in love with your employer. Any respectable governess knew the cardinal rule. Christine Aubrey prided herself on her devotion to her charges, never suspecting that one day a former pupil would tempt her to break every rule in the book.

Theodore Blake was a 'good boy' who grew up into a responsible man. Shouldering the burden of raising his sister's children and managing his older borther's affairs. Teddy has alsway done the right thing. But when his former governess returns to Birchwood, all he can think about is how good it would be to be bad.

Excerpt:

After a rubdown and a warm soak in the bath, Teddy emerged feeling refreshed and invigorated. Toweling his damp hair as he walked down the hall, he didn’t see Miss Aubrey when she emerged from the children’s bedroom.

“Good afternoon, sir.” Her wide aquamarine eyes betrayed her surprise.

He took in every inch of her frame in one long glance. Surely she had no idea of the effect that a simple fichu, tucked over the swell of her bosom, would have on the senses of a man who’d been too long without the company of a delicate female. Such modesty would sober any other man, but it made Theodore Blake suck in a breath.

He cleared his throat and attempted to think of anything but the soft swell of her breasts hidden beneath the fine cotton.

“Good afternoon, Miss Aubrey. Are the children busy with their music lesson?” He’d arranged for a musician from Devon to visit them twice a month. Though Miss Aubrey was skilled at the pianoforte and the harp, Teddy wanted Charles to learn the violin and the cello.

“Yes, sir.”

Her gaze dropped down to his boots and her cheeks turned a ripening pink. Demure as always, Christine made no comment about his state of undress. His waistcoat hung unbuttoned and he wore no jacket.

Did she find him as fascinating as he found her?

He wished for a peek into her mind. Would she ever have any regard for him? She seemed grateful to return to the familiar surroundings of Birchwood and he knew she’d always admired his family. Such was to be expected, but he wanted more.

She had never been merely a governess to him, even in his youth.
